I have had the opportunity to work closely with Rev. Sonya Doswell. I can testify to the fact that Sonya is an anointed woman of God. She is a devoted minister of the gospel and completely sold out to the work of the kingdom. She is so full of the Holy Spirit that you can just feel the presence of the Lord all around her. She ministers in the prophetic and has witnessed many miracles in her ministry. She has a strong passion for intercession. It is her desire to see intercessory groups are born in every church as this is the way our churches will operate in the supernatural. I met Sonya Doswell (Sone to those who know her) back in 1990 when I first moved to Seattle. Our relationship quickly developed into a deep and lifelong friendship. Her growth in her relationship with the Lord and her continued commitement to serving Him over the years has spilled into her relationships with everyone she meets. She has the gift of making everyone feel they are the most important person and you see the love of God in her. Even though we are friends, she has the ability to separate that part of our relationship to counsel or teach when needed. She has never given a word without seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit and always, always making sure she isn't allowing her own feelings on a subject to influence her counsel. She is devoted to serving the Lord with all her heart, mind and spirit. A good teacher is one who both listens and learns from what they hear. I first met Sonya at a very low point in my life. I'm 38 years old and have a wonderful husband, two great kids, and a job that I love. My life seemed terrific until I started having panic attacks. These attacks would last for days at a time and left me feeling out of control and terribly alone. I wasn't able to function, which left me feeling guilty for not being there for my family. I turned to prayer and asked God to take this burden from me. I didn't expect Him to bring Sonya into my life, but He did. It was Good Friday and I hadn't slept for days. I called a friend to talk and she suggested I speak with her new neighbor. Although Sonya was supposed to be out of town that day, my friend gave her a call hoping I could talk to her over the phone. It just so happened, that Sonya's flight was cancelled and not only was she in town but was at her church. Through Sonya's ministry I was able to feel God's love for the first time in my life. I was able to lay down all my burdens and to truly surrender to the Lord. Most importantly Sonya gave me hope. Not only was I worthy of God's love but I should expect Him to hear and answer my prayers. She read to me Jeremiah 29:11-13. "For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me in earnest, you will find me when you seek me." Sonya continues to inspire me through her personal ministry and her weekly bible study class. Her prophetic ministry is a gift from God that sparks a yearning within me to know God's word and to glorify Him in everything I do and say. Sonya is a true friend. I have known Sonya since 1986 and we have gone through many experiences together over the years. She has a gift of joy, true joy. I've admired how she can always light up a room. Her light is evident and her love of and for God is outward. She lets you see her love and hear it in her words, her songs and her extraverted expression. Sonya is a giver; giver of life. She gives in all aspects of herself. Whatever she does, she does it outloud, alive, and in color. I believe it is important to allow every believer to express their joy in their uniqueness. Sonya has a vibrant expression. She is truly a go-getter, a stick-to-it-til-it-breaks kind of person and what I would call-"a real-time player". She will go and go and go, above and beyond of what is expected of her. That is the kind of person I want on my team. I believe in Sonya Doswell and I believe in whatever she puts her heart into. The Lord has definitely blessed her with a great calling. But I tell you, she has blessed my life and those around her. And she will continue to bless others as the Lord puts them in her path. Sone, my kids love you forever for taking them under your wing when they were just 2 and 4 yrs. old. Now, they are 20 and 22 and they love you like a mother. You were there for me when I needed you most, even before I knew I needed anyone, you were there. You taught them songs about Jesus and showed them His love. That is something they have cherished all of their lives and still do today. Today, both of my beautiful daughters are faithfully serving the Lord and are on fire for Jesus. You had a major part in that. You have made a lasting impact in their lives. Thank you for being real, for being you. I know anyone who partners with Glory! Global Ministries will be truly blessed.
